MARIO HRISTOV
Dean for the School of the Word
Mario Hristov was born in Bulgaria, where he grew up as an Atheist under the tyranny of Communism. Soon after the fall of the iron curtain Mario went to serve in the Army. While there, he met and befriended an Evangelical Christian, who started sharing Christ with him. Soon after, Mario surrendered his life to Jesus and was radically changed.
After being honorably discharged, Mario studied and graduated from two YWAM Bible schools in Europe (the Discipleship Training School and the Leadership Training School). God used a YWAM connection to open a door for Mario to obtain a missionary visa to travel to the US, here he served as a missionary at a local church in Delaware A few years later he moved to the Chicago suburbs, where he enrolled in Christian Life College. Later he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical studies and a Minor in Youth Ministry.
For over 25+ years in the US, Mario has served as a Children’s, Youth, Family Pastor, as well as, a Small Groups, Discipleship, Community and Associate Pastor. Mario loves preaching, playing guitar, playing tennis and is very passionate to teach God’s Word and to raise Disciples.
Most of all Mario loves spending time with his beautiful wife Tihomira and his two boys Alex 18 years old, and Noah 13 years old.
